Projects
Since its founding, the REVIVART Association has managed to access several non-reimbursable grants following its participation in editorial and cultural proposal competitions organized by the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN). Between 2021 and 2025, four large-scale projects were implemented, aimed at lovers of early music: performers, researchers, musicologists, and enthusiasts of the genre.

AFCN 2025
Between March and September 2025, the REVIVART Association, in partnership with UNMB, the Center for Studies on 19th Century Music (CNCMS), carried out the MACAM project (Music and Emotions at the Courts of the Moldavian-Wallachian Aristocracy).
The project was born out of a desire to bring back to the attention of the contemporary public an essential part of Romanian musical heritage, located at the intersection of Byzantine tradition, Eastern influences, and the refinement of the aristocratic salons of the Romanian Principalities. The project aimed to recover and valorize the secular musical repertoires of the Phanariot era. These were identified in rare manuscripts, such as that of Archdeacon Nichifor Cantuniari from 1813, published in both physical and digital formats.

AFCN 2024
Between July and November 2024, the REVIVART Association, in partnership with the National University of Music in Bucharest, the Center for Studies on 19th Century Music (CNCMS), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and several other public and private institutions, carried out the project “PSALT (Psalmody and Alternative Systems of Tonal Language),” which aimed to reintroduce into the interpretive circuit repertoires from the mid-19th century that were captive in the Cyrillic alphabet.

AFCN 2023
Between July and November 2023, the REVIVART Association, in partnership with the National University of Music in Bucharest, the Center for Studies on 19th Century Music (CNCMS), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Faculty of Theology of the University of Eastern Finland, and several other public and private institutions, carried out the project “Hermetic Musical Systems and Hermeneutical Needs (SEMNE),” which aimed to disambiguate and reintroduce into the interpretative circuit repertoires captive in three musical notation systems used between the end of the 17th century and the middle of the 19th century: Kievan notation, Petru Efesiul’s alphabetic notation, and Gheorghios Lesvios’ neumatic notation.

AFCN 2022
Between January and June 2022, the REVIVART Association carried out the project Recovery and valorisation of calophonic irmoas from the 18th and 19th century music collections, in partnership with the National University of Music in Bucharest, the Centre for Studies on 19th Century Music, the National Library of Romania, the Trinitas TV station of the Romanian Patriarchate, the Lumina radio station of the Diocese of Severin and Strehaia, the “Chesarie Episcopul” Theological Seminary in Buzău, the “Sf.
